Neurofeedback for Concussions

Brain Forest can help superheroes of all ages with symptoms of traumatic brain injury and concussion.

With brain injury, it is critically important to understand how the injury impacted brain function overall. At Brain Forest, we measure brain function with a qEEG brain map, so that we can see the areas of the brain that have been negatively impacted by the injury. Our brain assessment and Brain Map will help identify why you or your child may be experiencing specific symptoms related to the traumatic brain injury or concussion.  We will then create a personalized plan, using natural learning abilities, to unleash the power of the brain and get it back to its functional best.

Traumatic Brain Injury & Concussions

Traumatic brain injury or TBI occurs when a violent blow or jolt to the head or body causes brain dysfunction and injury. When the brain is injured, changes in consciousness can range from becoming disoriented and confused to slipping into a coma. TBI can cause a number of difficulties that can include physical changes, changes in behavior, or problems with thinking skills.

  • Loss of consciousness
  • State of being dazed, confused or disoriented
  • Headaches, nausea or vomiting
  • Fatigue or drowsiness
  • Change in sleeping or eating habits
  • Dizziness or loss of balance
  • Sensitivity to light or sound
  • Memory or concentration problems
  • Mood changes or mood swings
  • Feeling depressed or anxious

A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury or mTBI that occurs when a blunt force causes the brain to temporarily dysfunction.  It is the most common type of traumatic brain injury. Common causes include motor vehicle collisions, falls, sports injuries, and bicycle accidents.

If you are struggling after a brain injury or concussion and would like to learn more about neurofeedback, we are here to help.

Mark B. (daughter, age 12)

“My daughter’s brain map was able to pinpoint a concussion she suffered from 6 years ago. Her list of symptoms was in line with what her mother and I were experiencing from her…and embarrassingly wrote off at “teenager-itis”. Once her brain training and concussion mitigation began, we noticed a significant improvement in her ability to follow directions, her self-image improved, her focus improved, and she was a happier child. We would have never been able to help our daughter correct the root of her issues without the staff at Brain Forest, thank you!”
